Teaser Tuesday (4): Lord of the Flies by William Golding

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Anyone can play along, just do the following:

 Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Currently I'm reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding. I thought I would give it a shot, since it's a classic, but I must say, I am not liking  it at all. Anyway, I feel like this is the dumbest book to do a Teaser Tuesday on, because I'm pretty sure everybody in the entire universe has read this at one point or another, but I haven't posted in a while, and this is all I can do at the moment so...

Teaser #1: "Slowly the silence on the mountain top deepened till click of the fire and the soft hiss of roasting meat could be heard clearly." (Page 74)

Teaser #2: "With the conch I'm calling a meeting even if we have to on into the dark. Down on the platform. When I blow it. Now." (Page 75)

I know, I know. Even I'm disappointed in these teasers, but to be fair, I'm not very far in the book. I'm really struggling with it, so right now, I'm hoping that it gets better. I mean I'm really, really hoping
